My current research looks into multi-round negotiations between LLM agents, with a focus on two areas. First, I study the space of agents' secondary negotiation responses — how an agent reacts to an individual offer or move within a round. In the background, existing work broadly treats negotiation as a sequence of coarse exchanges, the furthest-going research characterizing an agent’s “politeness problem”: agents’ verbosity/reading of the other agent developing more compared to the agent’s pursuing of an independent strategy. Second, I investigate precommitment behavior: how agents anchor or signal their stances early in ways that constrain subsequent moves. Combined, these tangents could help in growing a grasp of opportunity & behavior to de-risk.
